Default Cost to create a website

One of my teachers wants to have a website for his classes next year. He has 5 classes and essentially wants a site for each. They are most likely going to be 5 subdomains....

On each site he wants to have a weekly syllabus (updated weekly). He also wants a page with links to other helpful sites and a contact page, and possibly one other miscellaneous page. Oh, also, he is very computer illiterate.

So simply I have:
1 site, 5 subdomains, each having ~3 pages.

What do you suggest I charge to write it and set it up? He's not looking for anything fancy, but something functional. What do you think is fair to charge to update it weekly or should that be included in the setup cost. Remember that he is a teacher and doesn't make too much... I have done work for him before and given him a very good deal but I need money for school.

Thanks for the help.

I would say something more like $100 to start off and then $20 a month for maintenance, hosting, and providing user support

What are you using to create site? Dweaver or frontpage? Some host companies have easy presetup sites like 1&1 (advertised in Maximum PC) with healthy discounts on hosting and domain name using the mag's codes. If using Dreamweaver: $300. Frontpage $150.

Lol...thats the tough part. I would set it up so he can update it himself but he is so computer illiterate its not even funny. As far as the actually writing of it, I can have that done in less than 2 hours. The real question is the updating and support.

The problem is: there are many kids at my school that are more capable than me. I know a little html and it will be a good learning experience, but my main programming is with C, C++, and interactive C for robotics programming. If I charge too much he can go to someone else and ask them. I need to find the median where I can get the most possible, but not too much that he seeks out other options.

Most likely Dreamweaver. I especially like the ability to code it and then view it. I have the educational version so it was quite a bit cheaper.
