Hey guys, if you have issues with websites, let me know and I can help...I need more challenges as my employer recently payed for me to learn these languages and I want to maintain my ability.

Nah, sorry. I am being taught Paint shop pro a little at a time, but nothing major...what I am "good" at is figuring out what's wrong with your sites, etc.

How in the blue hell do I get IE7 to show padding correctly?

My box wants to be 800px wide and have all round padding of 10px. IE makes the box 10px wider each side making its total width 820px.

Very annoying!

Hey gift very nice of you to offer your help. I've had two web coding classes and would rate my html skills as a 4.5 on a 10 scale. Anyways I was wondering do you have any preference as far as development software goes, I'm trying to figure out which program to focus on really becoming an expert in. Thanks

Start with php+SQL, very basic and work yourself onto the more complex stuff such as Rubyonrails.

And I solved my own problem!

I wrote several apps in ROR and all I can say is: DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME LEARNING PHP, MYSQL, OR JAVASCRIPT.

You can write even the most complex applications in ROR without having to get your hands dirty with ONE line of MySQL, PHP or JS.

So let me be clear on this: with Ruby on Rails you can create a weblog from scratch in about as long as it would take you to sip your coffee during lunch break at work. That's how fast you can develop apps in ROR.
So is PHP+MySQL "very basic"? Absolutely not. Make the smarter choice.

Well, yeah, there's plenty of languages out there you can pick up. I think I misunderstood what he was asking though, I thought he was talking about the nitty gritty stuff like forum software and the like.

I know the bare minimum about coding :P

To the guy asking about the IE7 issue, there are two things you need to know. IE7 is trash and it would probably need its own css file (off an if statement, I assume). I am learning JS, but as I have yet to take classes for Computer Science, I kind of have excuse for that. I find it a lot tougher, and work has now actually become work with no training.

I assume you made you site Accessible, Kryten?
