Default Change DIV to different included file

i have a PHP site with an include in a div. i have a bunch of links on a navbar.

when you click on a link, it changes the div to include a different file

can i do this in javascript with innerHTML and put the actual PHP code inside there? like

innerHTML( "<?php include(file.php); ?>" )

if not can i use a SHTML include? or is there any other way to do this.

thanks.

EDIT: figured it out u can.
woot.
