I like your directness, but you did directly insult me. I couldn't let it go with out a response.

Here is a direct question for you.
Which cms do you think (given my lack of skill and time ) would best serve me in this venture, and could you possibly link me to, if not describe for me how to upload it to my external server(if thats how it even works)?

I made that with pretty much bare coding in Notepad++. If you have the time, get used to using Joomla and you can make outstanding websites such as www.FlatLineVision.com. I helped make the images used in it. It's my webhost. Great guy. But, it takes a lot of time to get used to it. I'm sure if you search around and perhaps buy a small HTML book you can get used to it.

My school uses a HTML book to teach the Web Dev class and it's really nice. I borrowed the book and use it for some help. The book is... here. Buy it, it helps a lot, teaches you some basic CSS for templates too.

Hope this has helped.

Work hard, or get your dad to hire someone. That website is ugly, and your dad can't hire someone on his own because you're his son.

I vote the Wordpress option. It is light compared to most CMS apps and it really is a complete website. Most ppl think its just meant for blogging, but it can be used to make an entire website for less resources than... say Joomla.

You've been given many options in this thread to go with. If your selling something, imo, go Joomla. It's easy enough to download a theme, mod it to your liking, and use it. Plus there are plenty of free 'addons' to use with it to give your site the store function your looking for. If you want to pay a little bit of cash for the addons to get a much better version, you have that option as well. Wordpress is also a good option, although not as robust as Joomla. It's also easier to use.

On another note, if you're having troubles even uploading Joomla, installing, and configuring it. You may want to look more into Wordpress. What you're trying to do is *NOT* going to be a 10 minute job.
