Default IO.sys and MSDOS.sys

Where are IO.sys and MSDOS.sys located in Windows XP? I recall reading somewhere that they were hidden with a special hidden file attribute that keeps them hidden when you enable viewing hidden folders. If this is correct then how do I access them? I have no floppy drive, so I cant create a bootdisk to get to them. Thanks.

Both are under C:\
Go to Tools>Folder Options>View, Check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".
