Default Does SpeedFan Work?

Hey all.

I'm currently using SpeedFan to monitor my temperatures, and I noticed that you can set the desired speeds, etc.

I know that my fans can go faster than it displays, so how come when I:

1. Set a desired speed, it doesn't speed fans up to suit my option.
2. Boost up the fan speed %

...it doesn't seem to make any difference?

Can you reccomend any programs that do work? Or would it be better buying a case fan controller?

It totally depends on your motherboard. Also, you have to make sure that you check 'Automatically Varied' under the Speeds tab (where you enter the speed %'s) and on the main window of speedfan.

For my old board, it only worked on the CPU fan, since the other sensors did not allow speed control.

You're really better off with the software that comes with your board...or manually setting it in the BIOS

True in this case I believe, because my P4P800-E DLX also only has CPU fan controllable.
