Well, I was overclocking like crzy today and then I got the dreaded c:\windows\system32\config\system is corrupted crap.
__________________Oh noes.. I forgot how I fixed it before so I googled up some tips. One method involved using the bootdisk and going to the recovery console and typing "bootcfg /rebuild". What this basically did was it added another operating sytem boot (I put in a description for the name) to the boot handler (whatever that may be). When this didn't work, I did it again, with a different description. To make a long story short, I DID end up fixing my problem with a different solution, but now, right before Windows loads, it has a dual boot menu and asks me what operating system I want log into. There are 3 listed (2 ones I made, and the old one) and, obviously, they all load windows xp pro. Now, I just need to find out how to clean the two ones I made so it can auto load my XP again. Also, I just want to verify that this problem still occurs to even some of you pros, because it wasn't like I OCed absurdly, I only raised the HTT 5mhz..

Same happened to my friends system. I upped his 3200+ to 2.2Ghz and that happened. But I dropped the OC and everything was fine. Um, should I have done something?

Press windows key + pause/break key, this will pop up with your system properties. Go into the "advanced" tab, click on settings for startup/recovery and uncheck the check box that says "Time to display list of operating systems". Be sure to have the right windows selected at the top and it will skip that part from now on.

You can boot into the OS you WANT...right click on My Computer. Select Properties.
Select the advanced option. Select Startup and Recovery button. Click on EDIT. Change the timeout to 0 Make sure the DEFAULT= parameter is pointing to the exact boot partition you want to auto-boot. The default is: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS. But you have 3, so you need to pick the option below [Operating Systems] which represents the boot location you want.

My FSBs R better than URS

Underclock...go into the bios...apply CORRECT voltages so everything has ENOUGH power...if that fails your PSU is what's killing you

This is probably more prone to happen because I'm using two SATA drives in RAID 0. Thanks for all your help accskyman and FrankenPC, my problem is fixed. I also went ahead and deleted all the other junk partitions I made in the boot.ini.
