So...I know that my webcam is messing up my boot. It won't boot right (5/6 times) if the webcam is plugged in. Soooo....is there a way to delay the loading of my webcam drivers until after it's all the way into Windows?

Is it USB? Set in your BIOS to boot from USB last after HD, CD, Floppy, then USB. That might fix your problem

Naw that's something different altogether. It's not trying to "boot from" my webcam....that all happens when it's going through the cds and hdds to find the OS. Thanks for the help though.

Try turning of Legacy USB Support. This might turn off USB until windows loads.

So it only works right if the webcam isn't plugged in? The simplest thing would be to plug it in after boot. Otherwise there is probably a program/service that is being loaded at startup that you would have to disable and run manually after boot. Try run>msconfig and look around for things that look like they are from your webcam manufacturer.

Hey Burnsy, I had the same issue with my Logitech webcam. Turning off the legacy USB support like Jester said fixed it for me. That way the USB ports are dead until the OS is loaded. Hope that helps.

You can always go to run, type in msconfig, and disable it from starting up and then start it up again later yourself manually, probably won't fix the problem but it will hold it off until you really find out whats wrong. Did you try installing latest drivers?
