Yes having the Pagefile on a slave HDD not only frees up space on your main drive but improves overall performance. This simply is becuase when playing a game or using photoshop it will constantly write to the Pagefile if the RAM has been fully utilized. Unfortunately a HDD can get stressed when doing more than one intensive task. When your playing a game and writing to the Pagefile at the same time on one HDD it will hinder performance a little. However you can take the strain of it by mobing the page file to another HDD.
However you only ever need ONE pagefile for Windows having another Pagefile will only use up space and wont help you performance wise.

Also with 2gb of ram its suprising you need pagefile but nonethe less if you do then I would suggest assigning it like a gb or 1&1/2 a gig.

Unless your playing newer games like FEAR or BF2, or doing CGI/design, you dont need a swapfile at all.
My computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance -> Advanced -> Change button -> Select "No paging file", press SET, click OK and then OK on the other window and restart if it asks. It usually boosts performance alot. *Note*: If you do somehow use over the 2gb of ram, windows will pop up a error from the tray and say 'bla bla bla I ran out of RAM so now I'll manage it myself...' and the settings will be changed back to how it is originally.

Actually I've setup 3 friends computers with it disabled and they all noticed that the computer was more responsive/fast. They've never had a problem with it except once when my friend tried to play Farcry beta (this was a while ago) at max settings - though he didnt have enough RAM (only 512).
If you have 2GB+ these days and your not playing the latest in games or Rendering CGI images/animations, I dont see how you can use it all up - hence you dont need a pagefile.
