Hey all,
I'm way behind the world when it comes to audio technology. I just got my first MP3 capable car deck. I'm trying to burn a cd, but I want to put them in a certain order. I've tried using windows media player, but thats pointless. I have Nero which burns fine, but it wont let me order the songs in the way that I want to. Is there another program that will burn this the way I want?? I hope I made sence.

Well generally they will get Burnt in the order they appear in on Nero or WMP before Burning.

Yeah, thats what I don't want. Once the songs get put into the list, it's ordered by name or date etc. Nothing will let me alter the order by myself... That is without chenging the file name. Which I may have to do, but when there's about 700 MB worth of songs, it's gonna take a while.

really.. with nero.. you burn it as a data cd.. and you can drag the tracks up or down.. its really simple.. no renaming at all.. you must have some sort of auto option turned on

I use a program called TagScanner. It will automatically rename your files based on ID3 information. Or write Id3 information based on file names. As long as your music is tagged properly, then renaming them is a snap. I cannot stress enough how important organization is to a digital music library.
EDIT I forgot the link http://xdev.narod.ru/tagscan_e.htm. Be prepared to wait the site is very slow.

I just tried adding the songs one by one, and Nero just automatically orders them. I'm going to try Roxio.

Roxio allows you to order them any way you wish. Its a nice program and I used to use it all the time.
