Default I need help installing windows from upgrade disc!
Is there any possible way to start fresh with blank partition and installing windows from an upgrade disc???

My setup kept messing up asking for some file like asms or something similar and then I ended up getting myself a blank partition. (computers hate me). The upgrade disc requires a previous windows version when reformatting. All I have is an upgrade disc so it keeps asking for a full version disc to continue installing windows on the hard drive.


Any way to surpass this or way to trick it to install!?!?!?! HELPP!!!!!

Here it is. Click Here. It is for Windows 98 but just do the same thing. NOTE: You have to have the full version of some Windows.

It should work. When you finish the setup it will ask you for a full version of Windows.

Ok all you have to do it boot up in the DOS type thing. Then do this:

d:\> cd win98

d:\win98 > setup.exe
Or whatever the directory is where the Setup.exe is.

1- How do I get to "DOS TYPE THING"?

2- Could you rewrite that for winxp, I wont be using 98...?

You can't do this, sorry. The way described doesn't work for any instance of WinXP
