Well, basically I'm going to answer anything you ask. But I'll start out with a few answers of my own.

Q: Does Vista still have the Winrot problem?
A: Yes, but not nearly as bad as Windows XP. I am just now experiencing winrot after over 7 days of uptime.

Q: OMG QUADCORE???
A: No, Windows still has an awful CPU scheduler and you will experience better performance in Linux.

Q: Is Vista "Teh Snappy"?
A: Unfortunately, no. Not really. There's some noticable lag when doing some things. Vista search sucks compared to OS X's Spotlight and Beagle. If your app isn't in the Recent Apps list in the Start Menu or on the Desktop, you'll have a bear of a time finding it due to Vista's ass-backwards "All Programs" list.


Imagine having 30 apps instead of 0.

So Vista feels slower and has a small UI nightmare on its hands.

Q: But Alchin said I don't need Antivirus!!!
A: He later explained that it was because he locked down the computer to his 8 year old. Shut up, you'll need it. I recommend Avast! AV.

Q: Vista's new User Access Protection sucks. How do I make it less intrusive, or turn it off?
A: Winkey+R -> type "cmd" -> type "secpol" (Vista's version of gpedit.msc) -> "Local Policies" -> "Security Options" -> All the way at the bottom, you'll see "User Account Control", and you can disable it all, or do what I did, and just disable "Secure Desktop", which makes me want to eat a baby.

Q: Folding?
A: Sure, but don't expect quite the performance. Vista likes RAM.

Q: Games?
A: Small performance decrease in DirectX 9, but once DirectX 10 native games and cards come around, that may change.

Q: Are you being a biased jackass?
A: No, I'm not. I'm making a preview. Just because I compared Vista's search to Linux and OS X does not mean that I'm being biased towards Vista.

Nice Little Review. Well I know in some cases Vista will be slower than XP but Unfortunately I expect that with an OS thats just released and Loves RAM...Ill be installing Vista on a Second partition very soon.

Yes, definately, my machine runs vista great, my brothers not so great, its definately based on the system, some people run it like a charm!

Explain which parts are biased? I think it's fair. I didn't trash Vista even once. I just answered questions that I had not seen answered before.
