ugh i'm so fed up with the XP install process. on one of my computers when i put the XP CD in and boot from it it loads the drivers and then says starting windows but instead of going to a screen where i usually choose install or repair i get a BSOD 99 out of 100 times, no matter whether i'm OCing or not. if i have the HD on a PCI HDD controller i don't get a BSOD but then i have to get drivers from the website and do the whole f6 thing and all that fun stuff. so i was wondering if anyone knew why or how to fix this problem, i have tried numerous times changing bios settings around but nothing changes. sometime i'm gona be stuck without a floppy or floppy drive seeing as i only have one for every computer in the house as it is. it''s a ATA drive so it's not like i should be loading any extra drivers to install it or anything i just don't understand why this would happen.... then i think oh wait it's M$. any help would be greatly apreciated.

Try plugging in the HD into the mobo or switch the PCI HDD controller to a diffferent PCI slot.

It May be a HDD thats dying or got BAD sectors..Also such BSOD'S can be due to bad RAM.
Also try resetting your CMOS.

i have tried multiple drives and they all do the same thing
__________________i have tried with differen't ram and tested my system with memtest and no errors i reset the cmos multiple times as well so why would it work when i use a PCI HDD controller and not when i use onboard if those were the problems? i guess i'm just gona DL the drivers for the PCI HDD controller and install it with that then go back to the onboard controller when i'm done.
