No. Hardware support is the same for both. Have you ever seen a HDD (or any other periferal for that matter) that says on the box "works on XP Pro, but not XP Home"?

The biggest differences that I've understood between Pro & Home is multi support i.e. multi processors and multi monitors.

I remember reading at one point that Home only supports one Processor and one monitor (read this as XP Home not any 3rd party drivers)

XP Pro on the otherhand natively supported multiple processors and up to 10 monitors in total.

Outside of that I believe that Pro just offers you a little more in the networking and production sides of the OS than home does i.e. things you may need in administering the computer in a business/production environment that you dont necessarily need in the home environment.

Pro Can utilize Dual Core and Dual CPU setups...Home cannot utilize Dual CPU but can do Dual core.

Pro is for professionals, as the name implies. It might mean IT professionals (great networking options, much more then Home), CAD professionals (multi-CPU workstation support), or any other professionals who need to access their computer while they're not sitting at it (Remote Desktop).

Like I said I read this years ago I think it was actually MS literature when XP was just coming out. At anyrate with doing so much PS work and having 2 sometimes 3 monitors setup I couldn't risk not having that support in Home so thats why I went with Pro.
