How much free space do I need for Windows I wanna part this hard drve.

Are you currently installing windows? I don't believe you can partition from the windows install. You will have to install windows, and then partition the disk after installation.

Yes he can partition during windows install. If you just want windows and no games etc, you could run say a 10-15gig partition. You're rather vague with the question.

68 Gigabytes for your windows installation? Not quite lol

I ran winXP on a K6-2 500mhz with a 6.5Gb hard drive


Erm, a basic XP install is about 2Gb.

Do you want room for your actual programs, or just the OS itself? I'd leave 4GB just to be safe... But really, it's not very much...

Remember you want about 1.5G just for the page file...

I googled it took me to get on the 16th page but with SP2 it take 1200MB's(really 1100 but I wanna be on the safe side.)

Do like 10 or 15gb's to be safe. Take it from someone with experience. I made the partition like 4 gigs and I ran into allll kinds of problems.
