Default OEM or Retail

I am planning to get Vista Ultimate Edition real soon ( by the end of this week). 1.What is the difference between OEM and Retail beside from packaging and manual
2.Which one should i get OEM or Retail.?
3. Whats the catch in OEM version? it is half the price of retail for ultimate edition. Does licensing work differently for OEM?
4. 32 or 64 bits one?
Thank you

oem or original end manufacturer is a version for system builders.

it is cheaper because you have to get it with some hardware (ie New Hard Drive)

most places i see have deals that have an oem version of windows and a hdd in a bundle.

hope this helps :-)

OEM software may be licensed under conditions requiring that it be sold with computer hardware. To avoid contravening the conditions while passing OEM software savings on to end users, some retailers will sell OEM software with a security token hardware device of small cost, such as a tiny SIMM or a cable splitter.
Off of wiki, basically as richardlam said, it is the exact same thing, however it MUST be sold a piece of hardware of some kind. Usually a HDD but not always

Hey, Just noticed you have the same cpu and board as me, you'll need drivers to get the wifi etc working properly, i'll link;

http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us

had great sucess with these, Only the Damn ATI drivers to fiddle with now!

do you have any hints on overclocking with stock heatsink/fans?
i notice you have watrercooling, so you must have started somewhere :-)

any help would be appreciated..

OEM is the same as the retail but it doesn't come in a fancy package that's it. It just comes in a sleeve that says Windows VISTA "we won't get you viruses".
