Default Problem with Validation

Recently, the motherboard in my desktop has gotten burnt for some reason. So, I replaced it with a SiS 661GX Micro ATX Intel motherboard. After I hook up everything and try to bootup windows, I can't not login to my windows. Then there's a screen prompting me validate windows so i clicked "yes". Then it sends me to the validation screen, but in a second the screen dissapears and sends me back to the login screen. I've tried calling Sony and Microsoft with little success. I've even tried to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition. This problem is bothersome to me and I hope this community could provide me with some solutions or suggestions.

Call up Microsoft and explain your situation about how your motherboard burnt out and you replaced it but you now need to re validate it. Windows XP recognizes when major parts are replaced (like your motherboard) to keep from just swapping in a hard drive with a Windows XP installation on it to run Windows. Microsoft should provide you with a new key as it was not your fault though i have never dealt with a problem like this personally.

I have already explained it to them and my warranty has expired. Unless I pay a certain fee, they can't assist me with my situation.
