I have two Dells in my house right now, each with the sticker with the key still on them. I would like very much to format them, but I think you need a Dell Windows CD to work with the Dell windows key, is this true? If so, could I call Dell and ask to purchase a Dell windows CD from them?

If it's a newer Dell, check to see if it has a "system recovery" pertition. Those usualy wipe the HD and install a fresh copy of the OS. If not, Dell should send you one. The CD's will only work with Dell products, so it's not like they've got a piracy issue to worry about. Call them up, Dell's tech support may be often worthless, but thier customer suport is often pretty competent.
