Ok here is my huge rant. I hate windows XP/Vista. Well I've had my pc for about 5 years and I never reformated it ever. I had to much stuff on the HDD and And nowhere to back it up. It has all my music/games/movies.
So recently I installed Zone alarm 7.0 suit on my XP partition. It was terrible. Every time i load up it gives me so many erros like "windowslogin.exe" and other things that I don't have control over. So after about 20 times of logging in normally I gave up and went into safe mode to uninstall it. So I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it So after restarting about 3 times for everything to work out I would log into windows normally and it would work. So then i was installing another program that was asking me to restart so naturally I did and when I powered up my pc it gave me the "windowlogin.exe" and a million other errors again. And Once again kept crashing. The moral of the story "never restart your turn off your pc if you have ZA7.0 installed", YEAH RIGHT! I've relied on ZA for a while now and I never had these problems before ever! So then I said forget this and installed a new fresh install of XP on my second 22gb partition hopping for the best. "Don't ask me why i didn't do that to earlier my main partition." So then the internet didn't work on that partition. So I called up my ISP and they said that to install my mobo driver disc which I did and it kept timing out or something so I couldn't install it. Then I "Explored" the CD and i still couldn't install it that way either. So I said forget this!! With my main XP partition going to hell I tried to reformat the second partition that i was just talking about and installing the VISTA FINAL OS. So that was all good. So then I tried to install Zone alarm again on it "i know about the kernal protection that M$ put on" Zone alarm said that it supported vista so naturaly I believed it and installed it. It gave me error after error. Then I restarted manually. And then I would log into vista and It would blue screen. And now when I boot up my pc it naturaly gives me the selection for safe mode but now it looks like this. Earlier Windows XP MAin parTITION Vista SECOND partition Vista I tried to go into safe mode for XP and that doesn't work anymore so I can't log into my main partition so i can't truble shoot the xp with the error and vista every time i try to get into vista's safe mode it blue screens. You must understand the love i feel for MIcrosoft. No I can't reformat now i have to beg my parents to get me a mac cause i'm FED UP with this crap!!!!

Honestly I've seen ZA screw up so many systems, cause so many problems, and generates more headaches for me than BonzaiBuddy and AOL installs on Cable/DSL connected computers combined.
I'd rather install virii and spyware on my computer than ZA.

A conflict between Zone Alarm and Windows doesnt justify the utter hatred you have. Hell, I have the free ZA firewall, and its never given me problems. I just have to follow a guide to uninstall it correctly.

just reformat your HDD using a boot cd like "Ultimate Boot CD" works fine as some amazing crap on it.

Sorry about that, it's just anytime I hear the following software being used I fly into a fit of rage:
AOL for broadband McAfee BonzaiBuddy Weatherbug ZoneAlarm LimeWire That damn free simleys thing. Now that i've calmed down a bit... Since you've got plenty of screwed up partitions already go ahead and move your documents and such off the drive and start fresh. Zone Alarm CAN be used with XP if you don't have XPSP2 which basically upgrades the Windows Firewall to ZA levels without all the annoyances of ZA. The Firewall that comes with Vista is also very good as long as you don't go just clicking unblock and such it should be enough for the average user. Certainly better than ZA Free anyhow.

Modki- you need to create the ultimate list of "Software that creates fits of rage". Sticky it or something in the software section....haha

Well I have Zone Alarm PRO edition and nothing wrong with that at all, I like it because you can choose to "allow" or "deny" a program. I also have AOL broadband and XP SP2 and never ever had any problems with the internet or booting Windows. So I am very happy with these programs actually.
__________________Exactly! My system is perfecty fine running ZA pro and AOL on XP SP2, I do feel sorry for your problems Metalica732, but you cant go making accusations like that. The only difference between mine and your system is the user.
