New build I am working on (I am only up to the case, PS, disk drive, and cooling stage of the build) will use a 6300 C2D and Gigabyte DS3 and I was hoping to use Vista.
I dont plan to ever transfer this OS to another comp, but I keep reading that upgrades to the comp will also cause problems with an OEM version. And I have a plan for improving my comp shortly after I finish the build (money prevents me from doing it all in the initial build). So would doubling RAM, adding a second HD, adding a second disk drive, and adding a second monitor be too much for MS's rules? I dont plan to change the MB, reduce ram, change primary HD or disk drive, or change the CPU. Does anyone foresee problems for me with using Vista or am I just being paranoid of the big MS? |

If it won't authenticate the install just call MS and they will activate the key for you.
Just make sure if you end up switching motherboards, not to tell them it has changed. MS specifies a system as a motherboard. No other way around it.

You get up to 5 hardware changers before you'll have to call MS for a re-activation. At least that's what MS told us at our training the other day.

Excellent question, does anyone know what problems exist for drivers out there right now? It'll be a couple months before I finish my build and this matters, but what problems are people having with drivers right now?
Edit: Also, are there compatibility issues if I buy the 64 bit version or is today's hardware good to go with the new software? Last edited by MCRemix : 01-26-07 at 12:43 AM. |

I thought that they were working on SP1 for Vista.
