I'm slipstreaming nvidia raid drivers into xp pro w/ sp1, with nlite 1.2. My question is when I integrate the drivers do I just click the folder with all of the drivers into it?

Ok.... you only want to slipstream in the drivers for your raid to work at first.... so the drivers you choose are in the SATA RAID folder and the drivers that are in the SATA IDE folder.

Did you download the latest Nvidia forceware drivers? That is where the drivers you need are at...........

Yup, I think it is two .sys or .inf files called SATARAID and SATAIDE. Open the nVidia Driver. When you are in nLite "Intergrate Drivers", navigate to those two folders and look for the files.

I just copied all of the files in both of those 2 folders ...... works GREAT! better than the madness of having the OS refuse the drivers that come with the mobo on a floppy during the install process .........

Well I tried it and what ever I did failed. Also I have a cd key for sp2 off of my moms old pc, but my cd is sp1. Soooo I'm kinda dead in the water. I'm gonna try to get a sp2 cd and see if I can slipstream it into that one. As for now I'm using xp home sp1. Installing the MASSIVE amounts of updates, and not on a raid WITH 1 hdd at 125gigs when I have 2 250's hooked up. POS WINDOWS! I'll see if I can get a sp2 cd tomarow then ask again for some help. Man my wife is getting sick and tiered of installing all of her sims 2 games

I am redoing the slipstream now... For nVidia RAID chipset RAID intergration:
1) Download the latest chipset driver (6.86_nforce_win2kxp_international_whql.exe) 2) Use WinZip (WinRAR, ect) extract the .exe 3) Start your nLite and get to Integrate Drivers 4) Select Insert -> Single Driver 5) Select: 6.86_nforce_win2kxp_international_whql/IDE/WinXP/sata_ide/nvata.inf 6) Now select: 6.86_nforce_win2kxp_international_whql/IDE/WinXP/sataraid/nvraid.inf 7) Select "Textmode Driver" and and both listed files 8) There should be four drivers listed 9) Finish your slipstream and burn the resulting .iso to CD

Is it okay to say I love you? Thanks man I'll try that crap when I get off work. I'll keep you guys posted on how she goes. 1 more thing in the set-up for the raid what exactlly do I need to have as settings for a RAID-0? ie: mirroring stipe stripping?!?! I have no clue what to do there my uncle told me, but I don't think he knew since he doesn't use a raid.

You can download SP2 here .... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
As far as the raid set up .... It depends what you want to do. If you want redundancy go with raid 1 mirror 16k or 32k chunk size..... if you want the fastest setup possible with what you have Raid 0 stripe..... most suggest a 16k stripe but after a considerable amount of testing with my raptors I have found a 5 to 10 % increase in data transfer rates / speeds and using the 32k stripe size. Great precise instructions DuckieHo! Rep+

Sweet. Okay. So I now have all of the necessary stuff to set-up my raid when I get a chance. Hopefully this is my last question. In my bios I change raid to enable (obviously) and enable my SATA 1 and 2 ports (those are the ones plugged in) and that should be the only thing I need to do right? To get my raid up and running fast. Also I only have 1 ide item plugged in. My dvd drive. O and yet another thing... When I install windows and go to install my motherboard drivers which one(s) should I install? The ethernet ones I need, but what about the SMBus thing or the nVidia ide thing? Those are the things in my cd for my mobo. Damnit!!! Here's another ? -> If I put sp2 into my sp1 cd will that hold alllll of the necessary updates from sp1 through sp2? Or do I need to get each and everyone of those?
Who would've thought doing this could be so confusing!?!? Sorry for so many questions, but this is the first SATA hdd experience I've ever had. Oh and thank you all so much! ![]()
