I recently purchased Windows Vista Ultimate. I also have Windows Xp running on my computer. How do I go about installing Vista on the same harddrive and be able to select which operating system i would like to boot from at every start up ?

If you have free space on your hard drive, simply install Windows Vista into that free space, and it will automatically add an entry into the boot.ini file, allowing you to chose which OS to boot to when you turn on your computer.
If you do NOT have free space, you will have to find a third-party partitioning program that will allow you to shrink your current partition, creating free space to install Vista onto.

um dont just install it into free space.. make sure you make a partition first.. have them seperate .. then with windows vista install into the non used partition.. vista will detect windows xp and set up a boot loader for you to select which os you choose to run at that time

yeah lol you need to set up a partition either through reformatting or with a program such as norton partition magic...you cant just install onto free space, it doesnt work.
