It wouldn't detect mine either.
What version are you using? I was using RC1 when I tried. Got bored of not being on the internet and went back to XP.

thats because vista is about new technology .. not stuff that belongs in a glass case on display somewhere...
EDIT: have you tried loading the xp drivers for it and see if it takes
