Default Vista Business and DVD's and them not working

So I just did a fresh install of vista business (I get business from MSDN AA, our school doesn't distribute Ultimate until April), and I was bored the other night and decided to try to watch a dvd. Well I got an error message in WM11 to something of the extent 'You don't have a dvd decoder installed'...ok, I thought. So I did some research and got the Vista Codec's v247 pack, as well as the all in one codec's pack. I tried playing again, and now i get this error:
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings.
...Needless to say, lowering my screen resolution and all that didn't work.
So I worked a bit more and got the VLC dvd player. Now I can see menus (in vlc), but when there is acutal movie, all i can hear is the sound, no picture shows up.

(I bet Home Basic users have the same problem as I do)
Anyone with any sort of help at all on this matter would be Awesome!

Vista does not have a build in Mpeg2 decoder. A program that has a decoder included is needed to play DVDs in the Business version of VIsta.

Try this and see if it works http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...-Package.shtml
