Here's my problem from the begining. Last night I fired up x-fire to check who was online. It locked up during "detecting installed games", wouldn't do anything, locked my whole comp up. I let it try and sort itself out for about 1/2 hr, didn't work so I just shut it down. (hold power button because windows is non-responsive). This morning i go to fire things up and get a wierd loop where my comp will post, check raid, etc but then I get to load windows and it restarts. I can hit F5 to get the boot options, but nothing works(safe mode etc.) I reset bios but that didn't help. During boot it says that my raid array is normal. I'm thinking maybe I have corrupted data on 1 raid disk. Not sure what to try next short of XP repair or reinstall, but I don't want to lose all my stauff that I can't back-up. Any suggestions?

it does sound like your RAID array has messed up though if it comes to a re install, if possible install windows on another HDD and then take you stuff off your other HDD's

thanks for the advice. By windows repair, you mean with the xp install disk, correct? Will I lose my data doing that, or should I just install windows on another HD first?
It seems to me that it's probably an HD problem as opposed to an MB problem since in post it reports the raid array as normal correct?

anyway repairs just go through, and any system files that arent right it practically replaces them, so you get your system files back to normal get someone elses opinion on it aswell though - im not 100% on the best way i know if it was me, i would repair it, and then if it doesn't work, just re install xp on another HDD

Well I tried an XP repair and got kicked straight to command prompt. Tried a chksk and got a messsage like "Several sectors on the volume are damaged and non-recoverable". Great, now to get another HD with a fresh XP install and see if I can save some of my stuff off the array. Thanks for the help Fusion.
