Default Sync computer to laptop automatically?

is there anyway to sync files from my laptop to my computer automatically through a network?? say for example, if i make changes to a folder on my laptop/computer it'll transfer automatically. kinda like how the ipod and itunes sync together automatically. my computer is a vista ultimate while my laptop is a xp home, but i their is a high possibility of installing vista HP on my laptop soon.

Default

if you share a folder say on your laptop just make it available to the user on your laptop. Then the laptop should be visable on the start menu> networks tab on your desktop. browse the laptop(logging in with laptop user credentials) to the folder you shared and right click the folder and you should get the >make files available offline options. now this folder is aded to vista sync too and options within vista sync can decide when it's updated real time/batch. I've done this both vista/xp vista/vista mate. the sync tool should add an icon to the taskbar once you add the folder, but you can also see it in control panel.
