I've long since optimize my bootup - but when doing a 'minimalist bootup' such as you have described here, my laptop does boot about 5-7 seconds quicker (from initial BIOS to windows log in prompt [I have windows logon screen disabled])

Its good for benching, but Ill take the extra hit to have my few pertinent programs/services load at boot-up. I think when I got this laptop it would boot in about 58 seconds, down to about 22, and with disabling EVERYTHING, as low as 15 ^.^ a much better improvement over stock -- but HP does tend to load their laptops full of **** !

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.
