Default Anyone tried Vista?

I was just wondering who has tried Windows Vista and what your input was on it. How would you compare it to XP in speed performance and whatever? I was just wondering because we have a Vista capable computer with xp on it and I'm trying to decide whether its worth it or not to upgrade.

Its not, not yet anyway. Give it a year or so, or atleast 5 months.

Drivers are immature, quite a few programs don't work right. I know a few games that won't even launch.

You also lose quite a bit of performance. About 10-15%.

I installed it, used it for 2 hours, reformatted and put XP back on.

I dont see what peoples problem with Vista are. It was better than XP for me. Ran better, faster, and more stable. It does use more ram than XP, but for good reasons. I have not had any problems. Every program i have installed worked perfectly. All my drivers are great. Ive installed Photoshop CS2, 3dsmax8, Macromedia Studio, Americas Army, BF2142, and more, all ran great. I have no complaints. I didnt care for the beta, but thats because it was beta and nothing worked and performance was pretty bad. But i decided to try it out since it was released since i could get it free through school and i like everything about it.

I think most of the people that bash it really dont have a clue. Everyone talks about waiting till they release service packs, its fine now for me.

However, honestly, theres no big reason to upgrade now. I think it does run better than XP so that might be a reason, and it looks better. (I know you can change the look of xp, i used to).

I dont see why people bash it so much, maybe just jumping on the bandwagon? Who knows. Bottom line, its been fine for me. Recently i switched to linux as primary OS, but Vista is still on dual boot.

If i had to pay for Vista, i would stay with XP. Personally it wouldnt be worth paying for to me, but thats just me.

Using it right now. Once you restart the computer a few times Superfetch really takes effect and the OS is more streamlined and faster.

Vista ftw.

I think the only things i liked about vista were:

Its driver searching
Programs start instantly
Better look

But the pros are outweighed by its cons
Feels unfininished
Code:blocks hates it
I cant use Visual Studio 2003 >:{
Hogs my hard drive

i tried installing vista 32-bit the other day & it installed & @ the end it told me that some error or some BS,& it rolled back to XP.i had to uninstall NERO just to start vista install (Weird) & it didnt even finish installing,it rolled back to xp & am happy that i aint gotta install the whole thing over again.(xp)

But i rather wait until the drivers are sort out & until you can install the OS with out uninstalling anything on xp 1st.still wondering why i had to uninstall NERO just install this thing + it rolled back so now i gotta install NERO over again.

WAIT WAIT WAIT A Few Months.

Use the compatibility with Visual Studios. Mine works fine using the Wizard and XP SP2 settings.

How does it feel unfinished?
