well this is a continuation of my core0 problems stated in 2 intel general threads. but i think i've narrowed it down to a pio/dma problem.
__________________I've already tried several methods to force DMA, but none of them work nor seem to truly "force" DMA mode. I've tried install.reinstall, 3 differtent regestry hax, snooped all over the bios etc. I need teh helpzorz, pls. My problem only starts after installing windows updates on my tutors PC after a clean install. this isn't my P, but I built it. The mobo is an ECS P965T-A. here's the links to the other threads, might be useful to ya. http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...wn-origin.html http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...ive-while.html This is my 3rd thread i've posted on this problem. I need to get this fixed, or atleast figure outwhy it's happening. thx

Problem fixed!
needed to install some stupid RAID drivers to get it working FFS. If any admin run across this thread could they somehow post a sticky or something about this problem on the ECS P965T-A. You must install the Jmicron RAID driver/utility or you'll have major problems when using ODDs or the IDE channel. I just don't want anybody else to have to go through this, it wasn't fun...
