Default Burn Windows XP

Well I got my brother's motherboard in, but now we need to reinstall xp. Its a HP and it didn't come with a disc, or he lost it. I have XP Media Center for him (it's legit, he owns a copy before we formated) and its not an iso or anything, just all the files extracted. I tried burning just all the files to a cd using explorer but it won't boot off of it. I tried my Vista and it booted off of it but we want xp, since its legit and the tv tuner don't work on it.

So the question is, how do we do this on explorer or do we need a program to convert it it an iso and a program to burn it or what?

you need to burn the image (not just the files) to the disk, windows xp doesn't do this unless you have a special program, nero or something. not sure if vista can do it

You could probably use Nero to make it a bootable CD.

Yes, I think you need to convert it to ISO and mount it, if it's just an upgrade install.

Otherwise, you need to convert to ISO anyways and burn it to a disc.

You can't use Explorer for these things.

I use Alchohol 120% and Daemon Tools. You don't copy and paste...you tell it to compile a .rar or .zip into an ISO. So you'll have to compress the XP disc folder into one of those. I think Alchohol 120% will actually just burn the .rar or .zip as an ISO...
