New to Overclock.net

Just joined today and to clarify I AM VERY NEW TO BUILDING PC
(Questions at the bottom) XP Home SP2 80GB SATA Seagate ST380811AS DFI 945G-TMGF Motherboard (LGA775) - Socket 775, Intel Pentium 4 Prescott, 1066MT/s, PCI Express, Dual-Channel DDR2 667, Intel GMA 950 graphics, 6-channel audio, S/PDIF, 4 SATA 3Gb/s, 1 Gigabit LAN, 2 IEEE 1394 and 8 USB 2.0. Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz HT Arctic-Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Fan(SKT 775/T) Hi-Power (KC480) P4 20/24PIN ATX LG L194WTX-BF 19 in. widescreen 5ms 1440x900 2000:1 300CD/M2 VGA/DVI-D F-Engine Monitor Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/1G GeForce 5200 PCI (Until I get a PCI-E card) Samsung TS-H552B DVD±R/RW Question: The highlighted part below - shouldn't that say something in the line of "In SATA mode?????? Intel(R) 82801GB/GR I/O controller hub (ICH7/ICH7R) SATA Controller found in IDE mode Also; somehow my C: is H: and C: is labelled a removable disc?????????????????????????? Am hoping to try OC but am a little leary |

That is because you installed with a removable drive in your system... I can't remember the exact fix, but I know you can't do it with windows running plain out.

Installed OS using CD/DVD drive, don't have floppy and didn't have anything else hooked up except monitor and keyboard and mouse (which are wireless)
Not sure what you mean by a removable drive "IN" my system. As for changing back to having a C: can it be done in bios or in safe mode? |

when you install windows, you can't have any card readers hooked up. that's why it selected H: for your windows partition.
you'll have to disconnect the card readers, then reinstall windows, then hook up the card readers.

Thanks for the info svtfmook, I guess that would explain it as there is a multi card reader on the front panel.
