Angry BSOD when Intalling Windows

I had Windows XP installed for about 6 months and then i decided to install Linux and dual-boot the machine... well after about a week i decided I didn't want Linux so I uninstalled it (by re-installing windows and deleting the linux partitions). A day or two later my computer started to crash, restart, and bluescreen frequently. I found that one of my video cards did not have the Pci-e power connector plugged in, so i plugged that in. It helped the random restarts, but not the bluescreens. I decided to try and install windows again to see if that was the problem, and now the install does not even finish without bluescreening.

This has rendered my computer totally useless... and I know its not a hardware incompatibility issue as i had it running for months with no trouble.

if anyone knows what might be the problem, I would really, really appreciate it if you could enlighten me. Thanks for reading my essay.

Take out a Video card only run one while formatting and installing windows first off till you get all the new drivers installed. Format the Hard Drive using NTFS not NTFS Quick. And it should run fine.

I've had this problem so many times and it's always been weird stuff that caused it. Try the following:

-Reset the CMOS (jumper on mobo)
-Go into the BIOS and make sure RAID is disabled, your boot order is correct, and all the settings look right.

If it still happens, try another disk. I had that problem a few times and it was 50% of the time due to a bad disk. Sometimes they just bite the dust for whatever reason. If that STILL doesnt work, try this:

-Unplug CD drives.
-Unplug floppy drive.
-Unplug ALL pci/pci-e cards (except the GPU).

Try installing windows with nothing but the mobo, cpu, ram, gpu, hdd and power supply.

Alright sounds like the disk packed up on me then... I'll try installing with another disk. Thanks!

If windows wont install.... RAM .... is all you should be thinking until its tested. I see it was a new hdd... you should still test the ram... just to be sure.
