Can't Open Control Panel in Vista
I have Windows Vista Home Premium X86. All of a sudden starting today, I can't open Control Panel. When I double click the icon the window flashes and disappears. If I click the link from My Computer nothing happens at all. I need to use it too, hopefully someone knows how to fix this.

i have vista on my laptop and personally i think that it sucks for reasons like that, i don't now how to fix it but if all else fails right click and go to personalized you might be able to get a link back to the control panel

Tried that and nothing happened. Can't open it, and that is the reason why I need control panel. GOD I HATE VISTA(still better than OSX)

Take Vista off and put XP on if all ealse fails.

Well don't I have to format, to put XP back on. I do not want to have to install all these programs all over either.

Did your computer come with Vista installed or did you do it? If you installed it, did you do a fresh install??
From what I've read doing a fresh install vice an "upgrade" is recommended.

Yeah I formatted my HDD and I did a clean install.

Only other thing I can think of is 1.) Make sure you're using all current drivers and 2.) Make sure you're using the latest version of your BIOS. When I had an issue with Vista on my laptop a simple BIOS update fixed it. Might want to also check and see if there are any Vista options in your BIOS as well.

All drivers and updated and BIOS is updated.
