Dissociating File Types from All Programs
I have a problem with dissociating a file type from all programs. It can not be done without going through the registry.
In other words, after you assign a file type that has no program associated with it to a program, it must always be associated with a program. For example, if you associated a file type with a program that really can't open the file and you don't have something that can open it (in my case, .dmp files), you are stuck always attempting to open the file, causing unwanted program starts/freezes/memory accumulation until task is ended/etc...
Of course, it can be fixed through the registry, but it is annoying.
That is, unless someone else has a method included with Vista (not involving the registry) to do it that I just have not found yet.
Anything easier way besides the registry that anyone knows of?

Apparently, some people want to make personal attacks based on the above signature because they can't form logical arguments or comprehend that it's there with no expectation, but, rather, an ironic depiction of society stereotyping people who use forums as children when the majority of this forum's populace are adults. Such people, called idiots, have a tendency to result to childish attacks, thus furthering the stereotype, in their ignorance of logic.
