Question Task manager diabled !?! Help!

Hi, im doing a bit of upgrade work for a freind and i noticed that the task manager is greyed out when you right click on the notification area and when you ctrl alt del it says the task manager has been disabled by the administrator. How do i enable it again?

* Click Start
* Click Run
* Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
* In the Group Policy settings window
o Select User Configuration
o Select Administrative Templates
o Select System
o Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
o Select Remove Task Manager
o Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

Sounds like somehow it got changed in gpedit.msc. Go to run and type gpedit.msc and look through the tree and see if you can find something that doesn't say "Not Configured" (which is default). If you see something that says enabled or disabled, it's been tampered with. Or just look for something that generally says "disable task manager."

This also happens when you get some kind of spyware/adware/malware/virus. It's happened to me. Do some scans

You might find that regedit is disabled too.
