Default Can't open control panel in vista

Just like tittle says. After doing some of the upgrades I can't access the control panel in Vista... What gives ??

If I double click it it tries to open and closes it at the spot..

Got it... took me a while but got it. There's not a solution for this in google so I had to play with it.

If you can't get control panel to open.

1) Launch services.msc from a run command
2) Find the SL UInotify service & stop it
3) Find the Software Licensing service & stop it
4) Restart both services, starting with Software Licensing
5) Give it a try now

If it works go ahead and rule both for automatic run when window starts. I'ts a bug of some sort. Dunno if with Nvidia drivers or something else.

Good Luck

Hi there. I'm having the same problem and I tried the above.
Both of the processes were stopped when I went into services.msc, and attempting to restart the software licensing returned the error:
0x80070570 The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable.
Any advice on what to do next?
