HELP Vista won't boot up all the way

So i changed the motherboard in my sig to a DFI lanparty SLI-D. installed everything the same and now it wont boot windows all the way. it gets up to the loading bar then restarts. Ideas?

no error codes or anything. the computer just restarts.

Did you re-install the drivers properly? Did you do a system format then fresh install? Do the motherboards share the same chipset? Some of these errors could cause system stalls or random restarts without an error code.

so how would i go about getting it to work? uninstall the motherboard drivers for the old one and it will boot? or do i have to reformat?

boot it in safe mode, if that work, it's graphic driver issues.

when you switch motherboards sometimes it wont work. Your best bet is to reformat your hard-drive and reinstall windows vista. I had the same problem switching from my DFI board to my EVGA 680 sli board.

i just swapped the HDD into a similar system with the old motherboard i was using and it boot up just fine so im sure it is the motherboard. it has a different chipset. so how would i go about getting it to work with the new motherboard without reformatting

damn. thats the only way? i cant install the DFI drivers while running the old mobo then switch it into the DFI system?

well for legal purposes microsoft says you can only install and oem copy on one computer and switching the mobo is considered a whole new comp by MS. so technically you need to buy another copy of vista... but there might be a way around that. im not really sure
