I will be receiving my Vista Ultimate tomorrow and I am planning on installing it with 4GB of memory (second set of 2GB is on its way). From what I have read x64 seems to be quite stable, reliable, and secure. Is there anything that someone can point out that would be a reason not to go with the x64. This needs to be something a little more than the compatibility issues with some software, I think everyone who gets x64 understands that.
Thanks

This falls in with the general compatibility issue.

The x64 version of Vista will install two copies of Internet Explorer, 32-bit and 64-bit. You can obtain a flash plug-in for the 32-bit version easily enough. Or you could just go FireFox like many others.

I know Flash works in 64-Bit OS's with 32-Bit browsers.. but there is no 64-Bit Browser that supports flash..

Most of the Firefox 1.5x versions were much more stable for me than Firefox 2.0 and while I found IE6/7 to be less stable than 1.5x of Fx, IE7 is more stable than Fx 2.0. Firefox just has so many damn crashes for me. I've used it in both Vista and XP too. While I'm sure that there are numerous advantages to Fx 2.0 from 1.5x that I can't understand, I have still had a worse user experience.

People keep getting incompatibility misconceptions. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, just in case people don't have the message.
