Default Vista+Ventrilo+BF2=no transmit

I cant seem to setup Vent right so that I transmit in game.
Am I missing something here?

It could very well be your X-Fi...but don't hold me to that. I'm just going on what I've heard, and experienced with Creative's horrible driver support.

I can do it fine with my Realtek onboard, but my Live! 24-bit lacks a mic boost feature.

I have a problem as well, similar to yours, I can hear vent but it lags my game to hell .

I can vouch for this, I spent 270$ for my x-fi and the experience has been horrible with drivers. LOTRO BSODs whenever a loremaster is by, and stuff like that. Big issues, creative cant even get WHQL drivers they always get denied.

Well gents that did it. Just right click on the shortcut that you use and
click on compadibility then choose run as administrator. And tada it works
in game!

Yeah, it's very sad to me, when a maker of high quality audio cards gets outdone by a maker of cheap rather crappy audio solutions. Realtek's Vista drivers are amazing, I can have +30db mic boost, all kinds of options, but my Live! 24-bit doesn't even have half of the options that my realtek has...and the sad thing is my Live has better drivers than the X-fi
