The title says it but im making a new comp and i don't know what vista to get basic,home i don't know?

definitely home premium. you get the aero interface and all the other cool stuff without any of the other stuff you'll never bother to use

Basic Home looks like XP. If you want Vista experience, get Vista Premium. I would actually recommend the 64-bit version now since driver support is decent.
64-bit will allow you to support more memory. If you ever plan to go 3GB+, you need 64-bit. Also, some apps run better in 64-bit.

Go with 64-bit Home Premium. 64-bit is faster than 32-bit but requires more RAM. Your 2GB should be fine though.

Nice choice, ultimate is a waste of money and has stuff that you will never use
![]() Home Premium is the perfect balance. And make sure ALL your hardware/software has supported drivers before you go 64bit. Or else it will be a very bumpy ride!
