Default Display Driver stoped responding

Hi, Having trouble with my 8800gts drivers I believe. I keep getting black screens and short freezing followed by messages: "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" and sometimes I get "nvlddmkn" stopped responding. It has gotten really frequent especially while trying to play any games, As soon as I start a BF2142 game the screen freezes and goes black then comes back and then freezes again.
I tried to remove the driver and install other versions such as 158.24, 160.02 and 163.11 wich I"m on now, but to no avail. I keep getting the message and freezing.
I've also began to get blue screens with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. And once got a blue screen with "Bad Pool Caller".
To be honest, I actually reinstalled Windows Vista in hopes that it would fix my problem. But after all that I still get the same not responding messages and black screens.

Pleas tell me there is a solution. plz plz plz. Not being able to use my computer without interruption is driving crazy.
All updates are installed for Windows and am using latest drivers for Video card and motherboard.

Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Operating System

Started a few days ago, drove me mad because my screen kept going in and out more and more frequently until it went black and didn't recover. Even after restart, it would do it right away, not letting me do anything. I tried to repair using the Vista disk because I could no longer boot even under safe mode. So I did a clean install of my system.

All was fine, I installed all updates and it worked for a day... then today it started to go in and out again. Randomly. What do I need to do? plz@ I can't even play BF2142 because it does it after a minute or two of playing. While surfing the net is just randomly throughout the day. Games make it go nuts and more frequently.

Thx! Edgar
You need to install drivers, not the Windows generic driver.

Default using newest drivers already.

I have been using the latest drivers the whole time. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the driver 158.24 forceware driver for my 8800gts.

But it didn't help.
