Default Games cut out.

I would have posted this in the "PC Games" section, but all my games do it so I think it's a Windows/driver issue.
When I play games (ie Farcry, CS:S, HL Deathmatch/Lost Coast, UN2004 etc.)
the game randomly freezes, the disks start to load and it brings me back into windows.
I am running the latest ATi display drivers (no catalyst), on a 3-day old windows install with the latest directx (link)
By that I mean it was doing it before I did the reinstall (New drives) and even before I changed my graphics card (6800-x1950pro AGP).
Any help would be most apreciated .

I have a crappy 380 watt ATX power supply. I was thinking of getting a Seasonic S12II 500W.
Could that be it?
Lol, I just go through HL Lost Coast and it cut as the menu loaded back up.

I don't know why it would crash to the desktop because of PSU. Try running Orthos or something.

Problem solved. Your power supply is not strong enough to handle that powerful/power-hungry video card you have there. The Seasonic is amazing and although it is expensive, it is very stable.

Because the video card is asking for so much power that the PSU cannot handle/provide it so the video card basically fails to load 3D and such. Happened to me with my x850 and a cheap-o 350watt PSU.

Its your PSU plain and simple. That PSU simply doesnt have what it takes to power that GPU along with the rest of your system.

Time to upgrade mate.
