Default Error durring install

Well I'm trying to install Vista on a computer and I get this



it happens durring the first screen after it you press any key... it wont let me go into safe mode or anything...

System: My System
CPU
Athlon XP 1900+
Motherboard
Gigabyte something ax7c
Memory
1GB mixed DDR
Graphics Card
SIS315E
Hard Drive
40GB Western Digital
Sound Card
Sound Blaster Audigy SE
Power Supply
...dunno?

Haven't come across that before, my initial plan of action would be to try another DVD-Rom tbh.

Tried two... Think it might be the disk...

Did you format a linux partition onto that drive before you tried to install vista on it? Or maybe the whole drive as a linux partition?

I would recommend that you do a low level format from your MFG's (whoever that may be) utility CD. If you don't have one, download their disk utilities from their website.

I am sorry I could have sworn you said it loaded ubuntu above. I assumed that meant you loaded/installed it onto the hard drive, not just booted it from the CD.

So vista is already installed and you are trying to install it again on the same drive and you don't want to lose anything that is on the drive?
