Default Vista Power Options - problems

Anyone else having problems here? First, if it goes to sleep or hibernate, it won't wake up. If you skip sleep and turn off hard disks, it will wake up. But now lately it doesn't seem to be turning off the disks. The PSU stays on and never shuts off (don't know if disks are running or not). I dont' know what I changed, but I can't get it to work like it was a week ago.

Anyone else had this problem with a fix? I just want it to turn off and turn all the fans/PSU off after 30 minutes, but wake up when I hit the mouse. Can't seem to make it work.

Mine just won't stay hibernated. So I hit the power button when it tries to turn back on by itself. I think it's because I've got a USB kb and mouse and the board doesn't let you do wakeup from anything but PS/2 kb/mouse

I recall that early Forceware and Catalyst drivers definately had issues with sleep and hibernate when Vista was first released, so you may want to check that you're useing the latest graphics drivers. Also be sure to check Windows update to make sure that you have all the latest critical updates. Aside from that you could simply play about in the Power Settings section of Control Panel.

I've got no problems with it. For some reason it comes back up on a key press instead of pressing the power button, but I guess it's supposed to be that way.

Thanks. Could be the catalyst control center making it not work right. I'll check it out.

Yeah I noticed when you go into advanced mode the ATI Power stuff is there but it looks like the options are just missing, even in 7.7

All I saw was where you could make the computer power on using the mouse or keyboard, but I haven't seen any power options. I think this has to be done from windows.

Vista has a known issue with power settings. I'm sure there will be a patch out soon
