Default Windows XP question

I had it installed on my computer. I installed linux and it messed up my computer. I didn't have any reinstaller stuff so I just bought a copy of XP. I have 2 licenses and I don't have XP on any of my computers. If I built a new computer could I just install it on that with one of the licenses?

If you have the COA yeah, you might have to call to activate it but that should not be a big issue.

Yes, if it is a retail key.

You can use your new CD to install that key on another system (the CD is not bound to the key you receive with it)

It is not illegal as you own two retail licenses.

If it is an OEM key, you wouldn't be able to use a retail CD to install it anyways. OEM keys are only compatible with OEM discs. Retail discs are only compatible with retail keys.

Hope that answers your question
