As of late some strange stuff has been happening in my ultimate edition of Vista. very often is is just locking up, or freezing whatever term you prefer to use. It seem that there is a lot of this actually happening with Vista. I am just wondering if anyone here has heard of it, or has any insight to it at all. It does not do anything in safe mode with networking it's absolutely perfect. So it can't possibly be a driver issue can it. I actually tried system restores and removing half the programs I had installed and still the problem persisted. Thanks in advance for any help.

stock speeds thats what I thought at first so I put everything back to stock. memtest said no errors and I thought maybe it was a HDD dying so I ran that boot up test for the drive and it said no problems there so i'm lost.

I am having the same problem...
It just locks up after five or ten minutes of doing nothing but web browsing. It is driving me insane. Now, after the second time of it restarting, my desktop looks like an ugly windows 98 theme and I can't connect to any networks...

I haven't installed Firefox yet.
My antivirus wasn't working right though, and now that I have restarted it properly and updated avast! [antivirus], it seems to be working fine. We will see.

something I learned from someone else here. are your overclocks stable, if not that is what is causing the problem. run orthos for a little while and if it doesn't give you an error your good. then it is something else all together. but now that you mention it i was having problems updating my anti virus while this was happening also. Just something to check out I guess.
