PURE action!

XP Pro wont update.
New laptop with XP Home, upgraded to Pro...now it will not accept updates. It downloads them, and when I go to install, maybe 2 out of 50 will install....I've tried installing them manually to no avail. Is there a fix for this? I've tried everything I can think of....

yeah the clock might be it, or date etc.. A co-worker of mine is having the same problem.
__________________edit: he is useing an autopatcher and says it took, so if you can get your hand on an ulitmate boot cd you can use that.

Krunk_Kracker, here's a possible fix you can try. Mind you, it seems a little risky, but it worked for the writer of the complaint in this link. It also seems like it's a very similar case as yours, and it happened quite recently.

Try to delete the contents of the WINDOWS/softwaredistribution folder and try the updates again.

yes to the above statement and also try deleting temp and cached as well as the software distribution folder. I forgot about that one good call RonindeBeatrice
