Default Illegal to Dowload DVR videos???

is it illegal for me to transfer dvr vidz to pc?

recorded shows...


I dont know how to do it anyways...

It would be illegal to then burn them to cd/dvd's and then sell them for profit.

I think putting them on pc is more of a gray area, but you shouldn't distrubute it in any way, so make sure you didn't "accidently" copy them into your limewire directory or something.

i would think if you transfer them to your pc that would be ok maybe but i am guessing that it would be illegal to burn them off.

i dont know for sure so may want to contact a customer rep for copyrite info.

so is it easy for me to hook to the dvr via ethernet and or usb and windows will detect it? I plan to test this later...

was concerned coz the files in the dvr might be encrypted or need to be reformatted to a readable format/file

If it records like a normal dvd does, you can copy the folders then use VLC to play them. Otherwise I would think it would just use a mpeg format which should be easy to play.
