Default Connect to home network with Vista

Hello I have 3 PCs at home. 2 with Windows XP using a network named HOME and there is a new one with Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.

Now I want to connect Vista to my existing HOME network to acces the folders/files on the other PCs. How can I do this? At the moment I can see only the Vista pc and my router.

Thanks in advance!

"Tip 12: Make XP computers show up in your network map.

Vista uses a new protocol named Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) to display a network “map” of all computers in a network, but the protocol is only in Vista, so XP computers do not show up in this map.

Microsoft has generously released the software for XP, and it must be installed on an XP machine for it to show up in the Vista map. Click here to download the software for Windows XP SP2."

Copyed from http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/articl...50aHVzaWFzdA==

This should allow the XPs to see the Vista and visaversa hope this helps

I have a home network with 2 PCs, 1 Vista, 1 XP- I have a similar problem. I can connect to the XP computer (since I put the settings to share its HDD) but I can't go to all the folders, including most of the Documents and Settings folder.
Also I'm having a hard time sharing an HP printer thats on the XP. I installed the drivers for it, but when I print, it shows that its printed for 1 second then disappears and nothing happens.

Thats weird. My desktop is the vista machine and my laptop is Xp Pro. I have them setup in a home network and I can see the laptop/access its network files/share printers/etc without installing this LLTD update? Could the update have possibly been included in the Microsoft update page?

All I did was "connect to private network," "private network name," turn network discovery on, file sharing on, printer sharing on. Everything works fine.
