1. Are you able to see the dual boot menu? 2. Are you able to get in XP? 3. Which partition you could not see? The partition has XP installed? Only thing comes up in my mind is the file system. I am assuming you formatted them in NTFS but event formatted to FAT32 both Vista and XP can see it.

Ok well I followed the guide to until I got to boot the windows xp installation for the first time. I finished copying all of the files to my new XP 20 gig partition, but when it reboots I cant get into either OS. It says "disk read error" and won't load anything. I tried going through the initial XP setup again to copy the files to the D: drive again to no avail. Should I try anything else before I have to format my whole drive and start from scratch again??
Thanks, John

It's no biggie. I didn't have anything important on there yet. Weird, I don't know why it didn't work.

Hi fellas, i am concerned with the following...i am planning to make a dual boot system...so i am planning to make two separate partitions and install XP on the first and Vista on the second. Basically, i plan to install xp and using the Partition Manager create the partitions there. One will be used for XP and the other for Vista to be installed right after.
__________________Is this a good idea or will tha mean that drive C will only be allocated to XP and then on installation of Vista the Vista OS will be reading another drive letter (since XP will be installed on C????)? Does anyone who have done this know the answer?

You can install vista/xp32 there but you need to set the boot order in BIOS so it goes to first xp64 first or second disk. The you will see dual-boot menu when you select second drive to boot.
